When making a move for a given number of encoder pulses
at a given speed should one use MP or MV mode
The movement will come up to speed and the speed might be increased momentarily
and return to given speed but then needs to stop after a given distance.

Absolute position mode would probably be the best approach... especially if you are driving a ball screw or belt module. You can change the velocity of a position move "on the fly"... as well as acceleration and deceleration. It will stop when it reaches it's target position(PT).
